The first day of March is celebrated in Wales and the wider UK community as St David's Day. It is also the first day of meteorological Spring and, by definition, the end of meteorological Winter. After some early sunshine, the grey skies have moved in and we have light drizzle. The weather is relatively mild at the moment (daytime maximum 8 ℃, overnight minimum 5 ℃). However, the forecast is for colder weather over the next six or so days - all down to the sudden stratospheric warming event at the beginning of February.
